BSG update

BSG LeatherLink has an event ful and stressful year 2009.

Due to unfavourable external business environment, business growth was restricted. We reviewed the financial situation and consolidated operations in April 2009.

A. During April 2009 to September 2009,

  • we were providing complimentary support services to major clients and also working on updating the systems to meet the complex business transactions.
  • we prepared user documentation for LeatherLink TMS and LeatherLink FOMS which are well received by customers. These filled gaps in understanding of systems by users.
  • we prepared screenshots, demo movies and presentations about LeatherLink TMS, Leather FOMS and LeatherLink Sales Dais. These are made available on leatherlink.net to present products and services available from BSG LeatherLink to the target clients.
  • we continued our work with LeatherLink GloView and offering our services on SaaS model. We conducted a launch function for LeatherLink GloView which was graced by many enthusiastic users from the industry.
  • we added new clients during April - September half year. We got new work and consulting requirement from existing clients starting September onwards.
  • 5 of our major clients switched their critical operations to LeatherLink applications. One client decided to go for our applications in 2 additional business sections.
  • We ramped up our internal project management, HR and accounts software. Christened BSG Enterprise Management Software, this tool gives us a robust process for development and delivery.

B. With BSG EMS

  1. We track attendance, leave entitlement and prepare monthly salary statements and take salary slip printouts
  2. We track monthly Billable work (called Deliverable), Issues associated with each Deliverable, and Stages for each Issue
  3. Each stage of an issue is performed by a BSGian with details of work, time consumed for the work updated in BSG EMS
  4. We are able to calculate Deliverablewise cost vs value, profitability.
  5. We are able to measure time and performance of individual team members.
  6. We are able to measure total efforts  and output during a period.

C. BSG EMS helps us to

  • assure quality of deliveries
  • ensure faster development and delivery

D. We started October 2009 with renewed strength and purpose.

  • Customers are impressed with the quality and speed of our deliveries
  • We are firmly in control of efforts expended and value realized for each deliverable.
  • We identified actions to improve profitability and enter growth path.

E. The focus for the next 1 year (2010) would be

  • Consolidate operations with targets for monthly operation surplus - focussing on Chennai, Ranipet, Ambur, Vaniyambadi clients
  • Enhance technical capability and add experienced IT professionals to team - leverage open source capability, web application framework and mobile access
  • Market LeatherLink applications to overseas companies with complete integration of supply chain

With the tectonic shift in software industry, and maturing market in leather sector, BSG LeatherLink is poised to grow substantially in 2010.
